Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport Reports Strong Year-to-Date Performance

Oct 16, 2024

Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) has reported impressive growth in both passenger traffic and cargo movements as of September 2024.

Between January and September, the airport welcomed 521,630 passengers, marking a 10.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Summer 2024 was particularly notable, with a record 210,663 passengers traveling through YQM from June to August. This strong performance suggests that 2024 could be the best year on record for passenger traffic at the airport. In terms of cargo operations, YQM handled 30 international cargo flights by the end of September, nearly matching the total of 33 for all of 2023, and continues to show growth in domestic cargo services. Looking ahead, YQM is preparing for a robust winter schedule with Air Transat and Sunwing offering twelve direct flights to popular sun destinations beginning February 2025, and Air Transat beginning services to Cancun and Orlando in December 2024.
